About This Place

San Diego Tacos in Irving, TX, serves up an authentic slice of Mexican culinary tradition with a focus on vibrant, flavorful dishes that stay true to their roots. Specializing in Mexican and Latin American fare, this fast-casual spot excels at delivering quick, satisfying meals perfect for those craving a genuine taste of Mexico without the fuss.

The menu features a tempting variety of favorites that cater to all palates. Standouts include their Two Carne Asada Tacos, bursting with juicy, char-grilled steak topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and the Rolled Tacos paired with creamy guacamole that offers the perfect blend of crunch and smoothness. For those looking for something heartier, the California Burrito and Carne Asada Fries smothered in melted cheese provide an indulgent comfort-food experience. Don't miss the flavorful Chicken Quesadilla or the refreshing Cantaloupe Agua Fresca—each sip as revitalizing as it is subtly sweet.

Beyond tacos, San Diego Tacos proudly offers combination plates that balance variety and value. Personally, the Milanesa Plate and Chorizo Plate stand out for their savory depth and satisfying portions. The sopes and gorditas, with fillings like Fajita Pastor and Barbacoa Chicharron, deliver rich textures that celebrate traditional Mexican street food with a modern twist.

The vibe here is what you’d expect from a beloved neighborhood gem—unpretentious, fast, and friendly. Customers appreciate the approachable atmosphere where the focus is squarely on the food. As one visitor noted, “the staff is very friendly,” and the quick service, especially via the convenient drive-through, makes it a reliable choice for a flavorful meal on the go. While the tacos strike a tasty balance of tradition and heartiness, seasoned palates might find some dishes a bit greasy, a small culinary quirk in an otherwise solid dining experience.

The charm of San Diego Tacos lies in its straightforward, no-nonsense approach: it’s a hole-in-the-wall taqueria that feels like a genuine slice of San Diego’s taco culture right in the heart of Texas. Whether you’re drawn to the tangy Pastor Burrito, the crispy and satisfying Four Rolled Tacos with Guacamole, or the veggie-forward Veggi Nachos, each bite resonates with authenticity and care.

For anyone seeking bold, comforting Mexican flavors—from savory machaca to the crispy, cheesy Bacon Burrito—San Diego Tacos offers a satisfying escape. The combination of hearty dishes, refreshing beverages like Agua Fresca, and warm service make this restaurant a memorable culinary stop for locals and travelers alike.

San Diego Tacos – Fort Worth This place has good, no-nonsense Mexican food. The tacos are tasty and satisfying, nothing groundbreaking, but they do the trick when you’re in the mood for something quick and flavorful. What makes it stand out is the variety—they offer more than just tacos, with options like gorditas and other Mexican staples, so there’s a little more to choose from if you want to mix things up. Is it the best I’ve had? No. But it’s a reliable choice if you’re nearby and want a decent meal without the fuss. Would I go out of my way for it? Not really. But I wouldn’t mind stopping by again.

Got here at 6:55 this morning and the lights are off and it's locked up. Stayed until 7:05. Just like the best of the taco shops in San Diego. Carne Asada burritos and rolled tacos are a staple for a good taco shop. Wish they had hot carrots IYKYK!

We visit this place quite often! The drive through is really convenient and they're always very quick to take your order and prepare your food. We always go for the tacos (the al pastor are my favorite) and chips and salsa. It's also very affordable. The only issue we've ever had is that sometimes the tacos can get pretty greasy.

Hole in the wall taco place, one of the best in town. Carne Asada fries and pastor tacos are delicious.
